Inguinofemoral Herniorrhaphy Under Local Anesthesia

Abstract

|
From February 1987 to May 1989, 17 patients above .16 years of age were operated at department of Surgery of Gyeong Sang National University Hospital. Among them, 11 patients were operated under local anesthesia and remainder were operated under spinal or general anesthesia.
The purpose of this paper ´is to evaluate the results about the local anestheic hernia repairs and to introduce the methods used.
The results were satisfactory and local anesthetic herniorrhaphy had many advantages in comparison to spinal or general anesthesia. So we recommend that this type of anesthesia is be used in the repair of inguinofemoral hernia.
